Google Desktop Search

Apparently Google got tired of waiting for Microsoft to actually do something about file system searching in Windows. So, they did it themselves. Google Desktop allows you to find "your email, files, web history and chats instantly."

Civilization and Python

Posted 14 OCT 2004 | Comments

Being a enthusiastic fan of the Civilization franchise, I occasionally peruse various sites for news on how development of Civilization IV is coming along. Somehow, though, I missed this forum post about a presentation the lead developer gave a few months back. The interesting part from a Pythonista's perspective, though, is this:

[W]e are integrating Python into the code-base so that the more algorithmic parts of the game (map generation, combat, triggers/events, AI, etc.) can be scripted by the modding community.

I saw that and about fell out of my chair. I guess it's true, then, that only civilized people use Python ;-) <sheepish>sorry</sheepish>.
